Poultry World Pure Breeds reporter dies
MIKE CORRIGAN
It is with great regret that Poultry World announces that our Pure Breeds reporter, Mike Corrigan, has passed away after a short illness.
Mike died peacefully in Manchester Hospital on 19 July, with his wife, Marie, and two sons, Martin and Patrick, at his side.
Mike started as Poultry World’s Pure Breeds reporter in 1993 and has since built up a loyal following of admirers, who have been struck by his knowledge of the subject, his skill as a writer and photographer, and his overall enthusiasm and professionalism.
Former Poultry World editor John Farrant, who first employed Mike, said he was a very innovative journalist and photographer. “He introduced a whole new approach to our Pure Breeds coverage, in particular getting people into the pictures and bringing out the characters of the show scene in his copy. He was also incredibly reliable and a very likeable man.”
His funeral is planned for 1 August in Manchester and a full obituary will be published in September’s Poultry World.
He will be sadly missed.
