Sir Terry Leahy to address IEC conference

Former Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy will headline the International Egg Commission’s marketing and production conference, which is returning to London for the first time in 26 years.

Around 400 of the egg industry’s international decision makers are expected to attend the conference, which runs from 9-13 Spetember.

“I am incredibly keen to hear from Sir Terry,” said IEC president Joanne Ivy. “He is exceptional and has had a huge influence over our egg businesses and markets.”

The conference will also take a global look at animal welfare, including the fall-out from the EU’s ban on conventional cages.

Other papers will look at egg nutrition, new product innovation, the environmental footprint of eggs and “Making the internet work for your business”.
