Richaven Holstein sale sees 5400gns top twice

Last week’s sale of heifers from the Richaven herd of Richard and Dawn Bown, held as part of their herd open day, saw a top call of 5400gns given twice.

First to make this money was Richaven Shottle Adrienne, a Shottle daughter out of Richaven Goldwyn Adrienne, a Goldwyn daughter classified VG88 as a two year old. August 2009-born Shottle Adrienne’s dam gave 11,379 in 289 days of her first and stood third prize junior three year old at the National Show this year. This one sold to Designer Holsteins, Essex.

Second to make this top call was the next lot in the ring Richaven Goldwyn Squaw. This Braedae Goldwyn daughter is out of Richaven Leader Squaw 3, an Ex91 dam, and is maternal sister to the reserve junior champion from last year’s National Show Richaven Shottle Squaw. She sold to Augustin Celis of Ponderosa Holsteins, Spain, buyer of the UK record priced Holstein at the Willsbro sale earlier in the year.

And making 4700gns was another from the same family, Richaven Goldwyn Squaw 4. This Goldwyn daughter is out of Richaven Raider Squaw, an Ex94 dam with a third lactation of 10,722 in 305 days.
