Royal Highland Show 2014: Individual cattle breed champions
HIGHLAND: A bull belonging to the HM The Queen took top spot – Ruaridh 1st of Ubhaidh. This one is by Torquil 1st Of West Merkland and out of Flora 5th Of Lagg and bred by Mr Roy Tyldenwright. Reserve was Mrs Emma Paterson’s female Iona Bhuidhe.
BRITISH SIMMENTAL: WJ and J Green’s bull Dirnanean Bradley, by Halenook Vargner and out of Dirnanean Veronica. The reserve was Mr Douglas Smith’s Boswell Diamond.
BRITISH BLONDE: Mr Alan Walker’s Gleniffer Glory took the championship, by Budore Utah and out of Drumilly Amy. Reserve was Ms Alison Watt’s bull Srathisla Venus.
SALERS: Farmstock Genetics’ female Cumbrian Ladybird 559 took the top spot, by Vaillant and out of Cumbrian Ladybird 20 ET. Reserve was Mr George McCall’s Carrick View Heloise.
BRITISH CHAROLAIS: Messrs M Bruce and Partners’ female Balmaud Eclipse by Maerdy Amontillado and out of Balmaud Beauty. Reserve was Mr Patrick Gallagher’s bull Rumsden Fawkes.
BELTED GALLOWAY: Mr and Mrs AF Bell’s female Clifton Daffodil by Barwise Jigsaw and out of Huntfield Intrigue. Reserve was Mr Anthony’s bull Coulmony Blair.
BRITISH BLUE: Mr and Mrs Tom Cockburn’s bull Kingside Iceman by Empire D’Ochain and out of Lyonpark Evelien. Reserve was Mr Ross Pattinson’s Topside Isla.
HEREFORD: JM Cant and Partners’ Panmure 1 Blessing G6 by Romany 1 Distiller and out of Panmure 1 Blessing A4. Reserve was John A Cameron and Son’s Baldinnie 1 Fly 10th.
GALLOWAY: Messrs J Finlay’s Blackcraig Noreen T423 by Finmac Norseman and out of Blackcraig Noreen L122. Reserve was J and J Ross’ Nerys 1307 of Romesbeoch ET.
COMMERCIAL CATTLE: Alister and Elizabeth’s Vance’s British Blue cross Betty Boop. Reserve was James Nibet’s Limousin Cross Maybe This Time.
ABERDEEN ANGUS: Mr Alistair Clark and Sons’ bull Rawburn Jester Eric J034 by The Moss Beautiful Man D410 and out of Rawburn Joy EricaC213. Reserve was Whittaker and Co Farms’ Haughton Laura L026.
BRITISH LIMOUSIN: WJ and M Mash’s Brockhurst Bolshoi by Graham Samson and out of Ronick Mc Ainsi. Reserve was Mr James Quail’s bull Lynderg Hero.
BEEF SHORTHORN: Mr Neil Massie and sons’ bull Meonhill Highland Centurian. This one was by Eionmor Highlander and out of Blythesome Jessica. In reserve was Mr James Porter’s female Uppermill Gipsy Robyn.
