Royal Highland Winter Fair 2012: Beef championships
In the light steer championship, the top spot went to Miss Jennifer Hyslop’s 530kg Jack Flash (Exb.69). Bred by J Robertsin, Pitlochry, this September 2011 born steer is by Limousin Fedney Dapper and out of a British Blue cross. In reserve was Mr Hugh Dunlop’s 530kg Stoatir (Exb.60). He is by Limousin Goldies Oswald and out of a Limousin cross.
In the intermediate steer championship, R J Wright’s Razor (Exb.39) received the top accolade. He is by Limousin Bailie Spunkie and oout of Blondie, a Limousin cross British Blue. In reserve was Mr James Forsyth’s 580kg Jackass, by Limousin Seaview Bill and out of Meggie – a British Blue cross.
The heavy steer championship went to Messrs McBeath and Owen for their Red Duke(Exp.31). He weighs 690kg and is by a Charolais and out of a Limousin cross. Reserve was 650kg Rinky Dinky Doo (Exp.62) from Mr Gavin Scott. He is by Limousin Rossignol and out of a Limousin cross.
The light heifer championship was awarded to 490kg Wicco Booby from Mr Grant Morrison (Exp.106). This one is by Limousin Haltcliffe Donny and out of a Limousin cross. In reserve was Mr Hugh Dunlop’s Stooshie (Lot 114), a Silex daughter weighing 510kg.
In the heavy heifer class, the main award went to Mr Stewart Bett and Miss Lynsey McKay(Exp.84) for their 590kg Marvellous Mo. She is by Limousin Lodge Danny Boy. Reserve went to Messrs Watson and Work’s Signy, a Staveley Hurrican daughter.
