Scot buys top Roscrea Limousin at E4400
Top price at this week’s Irish Limouson sale at Roscrea on Monday was a brace of €4400 bids.
First to take this price was Roundhill Edge 1207 from Timothy Corridan, Fedamore Co Limerick. He is an Acajou son out of dam Roundhill Bjoyeuse. This powerful bull had a five star SBV of €174 and sold to Scottish breeder Normand Cruickshank, Leghorn , Lanarkshire.
Second to trade at this price was Coppertop Frankie from Michael Kenny, Ballyclare, Ferbane, Co Offaly. Sired by Sympa and out of Anfield he sold to Co Cavan pedigree breeder Philip Dunne for his Liscarn herd.
In at €4000 was Newtown Excell from Stanley Richardson, Newtowngore, Co Leitrim. Excell is by 42,000gns sire Wilodge Vantastic and out of Castleview Vanilla a dam that combines Mas Du Clo and Geannt breeding came to the sale ring with a 5 star SBV €119. He sold to John Leydon, Liscannor, Co Clare.
Selling at €3900 was Ardlea Ennis 1 from the Mountrath, Co Laois-based herd of Dan Tynan. By the herd sire Bremore Volvo and out of Bremore Angie and having stood reserve senior male champion he was knocked down to Brendan Lynch, Cloney, Athy, Co Kildare
Long time breeder Sarah McElligot, Asdee, Listowel Co Kerry, saw her entry Shannon Fancy trade at €3700. By Fieldson Alfy and out of homebred dam Shannon Unice with back breeding to Broadmeadows Cannon, he was quickly snapped up by Co Galway-based James Monaghan, Cahernagarry, Kilrickle.
Senior male champion Townleyhall Ewoch from Derek Russell, Drogheda, Co Louth, then changed hands at €3600. This well muscled bull by Ashleigh Unique was snapped up by Jim Ryan, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick.
Mount Scott Ernest from Michael Sexton, Co Clare then took a €3500 bid. Ernest, by Gamin, was bought by Noel Deacom, Myshall, Co Carlow.
