Sharp sheep trade at Carlisle Bank Holiday sale
Auctioneers Harrison & Hetherington reported a sharp trade at the weekly sale of breeding sheep at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, on Monday.
A good turnout of ewes and hogss with lambs were put forward, attracting strong interest from buyers around the packed ringside.
Top of the day was a pen of nine Dutch Texel hoggs with single lambs from Messrs Smith-Jackson, Hightown; peaking at £100 a head. The top priced outfit went to Messrs Taylor, The Harras, for Greyfaced hoggs with twins, selling to £73 or £219.
