Beef Shorthorn takes Yorkshire interbreed

Mark Holmes’ Beef Shorthorn bull Cairnsmore Thrasher has taken the interbreed award this afternoon at the Great Yorkshire Show, after standing reserve at last week’s Royal Show.

Led out by Carol and Richard Rettie, Thrasher looked an easy champion from the moment he stepped into the interbreed ring and found favour with the panel of breed judges which awarded him the best points score of the champions present.

Standing reserve to him was the Limousin champion Millington Tangerine from John Weatherill’s Millington herd. By Woodhouse Prince, Tangerine was shown by Mark Philips and Helen Burton, with her calf at foot.
