Simmentals top at 5800gns at Perth

Following Charolais patterns, the Simmental breed has had just as good a trade at Perth Multi breed bull sale, topping at 5800gns with 22 out of 24 bulls finding homes.

The champion of the day Balmaud Valuable from W and G Strachan sold for the day’s leading price. He is by Innerwick Renown and is out of the imported cow Gisi. He has a calving value of +2.3 and a SRI of +26.

Second highest at 5000gns was Willie Stronach’s Islavale Vostok, homebred on both sides he is by Islavale Marvel out of the Rhona line. He sold to the Crofters Commission.

 At 4500gns, Iain Green sold Corskie Varo, by Ballinlare Farm Nightrider out of Corskie Rosheen. he has a calving index of +3 and a SRI of +25.

Hector Macaskill sold his Corrick Kentucky Kid bull Woodhall Victor for 4400gns. He is out of Woodhall Mesmerise, while at 4200gns, the Dwyer family sold Falondene Victor, a Popes Laird son out of Falondene Graceful 5th.
