Store cattle and suckled calves see sharp trade in Hexham

An entry of 401 store cattle and suckled calves at Hexham and Northern Marts weekly sale saw a sharp trade from start to finish.

Cattle topped at £1070 for a three quarter Limousin steer from Stotfold, with heifers selling to £885 for three quarter Limousin from SpringWell Cottage.

Quality young cattle were also in great demand selling to £890 for a 14 month Charolais cross steer from Juries House, Glanton. £712 was also realised for a 13 month Charolais cross heifers from Edligham Newtown.

Spring born calves sold to £815 and £800 fro two outstanding pens of four steer calves from Loadman.
