Store cattle peak at £1,630 at Hexham mart

A strong entry of 574 store cattle and suckled calves peaked at £1,630 at Hexham and Northern marts this week (15 November).

 

Leading trade was a 24-month-old Limousin steer from M/s Johnson, Tuthill.

 

Next at £1,530 was a Charolais x steer from M/s Forster, Lowes Fell.

 

Topping trade for 11-16month cattle was a Limousin x heifer from M/x Davison, Lough Green at £1,290. This was closely followed by Limousin x steers at £1280 from M/s Hamilton, Claywalls.

 

Angus bred cattle sold to £1,350 for heifers from M/s Lawson, South Hallington and for steers from M/s Watmore Holystone.  Hereford bred sold to £1,005 from M/s Thompson, Duddo Hill.
