Strong sheep trade at Kington
There was a good entry of 2,000 sheep at yesterday’s sale at Kington where lambs averaged 1.99p/kg up to 2.15p/kg.
Auctioneers McCartneys said: “We had a good entry of 1,700 spring lambs for our summer show and sale, which sold to a much better trade.”
Light lambs sold to premium prices, but all lambs were in good demand by five buyers.

There was a small entry of end of season hoggets which sold to a brisk trade and averaged 1.58p/kg.
McCartneys said a good entry of 300 cull ewes sold to a better trade than last week and buyers were requiring leaner ewes which sold to premium prices.
