Suckler dispersal realises £1,920 top

The dispersal of Peter and Lynda Stafford’s suckler herd last week (11 June) at Brinscombe Lane End Farm, Axbridge, Somerset, realised a high of 1,920 for a British Blue x Shorthorn cow with her heifer calf at foot.

Next in the money at £1,700 was a pedigree beef Shorthorn cow Romany Annie May with her Aberdeen Angus x calf at foot.

Cows with spring born calves at foot sold to £1,480 for the Belted Galloway cow and her daughter.
Pedigree beef Shorthorn in-calf heifers due July topped at £1420 for Romany Alicia by Ashwater Commando. She was in-calf to Wivey Fitz. October due heifers by the same sire sold to £1,400 for Romany Rumour.

Crossbred maiden heifers born last April sold to £700 with 12 month old pedigree beef Shorthorn heifers at £640.

Averages 39 cows and calves, £1,320; seven in-calf cows, £1,018; one bull, £1,000; 20 in-calf heifers, £1177.50; five served heifers, £912; 14 maiden heifers, £653
