Stirling: Simmental averages up £372 on the year
Averages were buoyed by strong beef prices and suckled calf sales in the Simmental ring, which saw averages lift more than £300 on the year on Tuesday (19 October).
Prices peaked at 18,000gns for a May 2020-born Auchorachan Hercules son called Landmark from the Durnos at Glenlivet, Ballindalloch. He was sold to Brian and Stuart Grant of the Dellfield herd, Druid Temple Farm, Inverness.
He is out of a home-bred, very milky dam called Holly who is by Sterling Herkules.

The Islavale herd of Stewart Stronach and Fiona Sutherland, Berryleys, Keith, saw a bid of 12,500gns for Islavale Lachlan.
He is by Ranfurly Confederate (EX94) and out of a home-bred Atlow Dixon daughter. He went home with the Swansons, Quarryside, Caithness.

The Stronachs also saw a 10,000gns bid for the Corskie Highlander son Islavale Lord. Going back to Dirnanean Bradley, Lord is another with Confederate in his breeding, this time on his dam’s side.
The Islavale herd then saw a 9,000gns bid for Loch Ness, who also goes back to Bradley and Confederate. He was knocked down to Colin Inglis, Dalachy Farm, Aberdour.

Delfur Farms, Rothes, Banffshire, bought Ballymoney Larry from Mrs MH Kilpatrick, Banbridge, County Down,
Larry is by the Woodhall Ferrari son Saltire Impressive and out of the Celtic Rock daughter Ballymoney Harriet. He is the first Impressive son to sell.
