World-record 180,000gns bid for Lim bull at Carlisle

Limousin records were smashed by a joint 180,000gns world-record bid for the first bull offered by the Graiggoch herd at Carlisle’s May sale on Saturday 7 May.
Graiggoch Rambo from Gerwyn Jones, near Llanrwst, Conwy, is an Ampertaine Elgin son and out of the Wilodge Vantastic daughter Sarkley Glorianne, claimed to be the Sarkley herd’s best female.
He was knocked to Messrs Jenkinson of the Whinfellpark herd, Clifton, Penrith, who bought 75% and Messrs Boden and Davies of the Sportsmans herd, Mellor, Stockport, who bought 25%.

The prestigious British Limousin Cattle Society record was notably set at 147,000gns by Trueman Jagger from County Down breeder Henry Savage and Sons in October 2015.
Graiggoch Rambo is the first bull to be offered by the Graiggoch herd. He goes back to Glenrock Ventura.
He was born in November 2020 and carries the Q204X/Q204X myostatin gene.
