Texels hit 2100gns at Lanark club sale
Yesterday’s Texel sale at Lanark for the Scottish Texel Club saw prices peak at 2100gns for ram lamb Tapanui Raconteur from Kerr Jarvie. This is a Penparc Lexus son out of a ewe by Baltier King and sold to H and M Evans, Ty Croes, Anglesey.
Next best at 1800gns was Lower Reiss Rebel from Douglas Webster. Sired by Tophill Nockout and out of a dam by Garngour Nobleman he was reserve interbreed at Caithness Show and sold to J Currie and Sons, Lanark.
Also at this price was Cairness Rockstar, a Deveronvale Perfection son from Jimmy Douglas. He is out of a Brookhill Northern Star sired dam and sold to John Forsyth, Glenside.
Making 1700gns was Culter Allas Raider from Callum Wight. He is by Tullagh Pacha and out of a dam by Fachell Indiana. Sold with an index of 248 he went to R and M Struthers, Carluke and Robert Laird, Cambwell.
Best in the shearling ewes was a 1000gns bid for one from Adam Andrew’s Ladyburn flock. This was a Baltier Ossie daughter out of a dam by Cambwell Kilt and was bought by A Campbell, Carstairs.
Averages; seven shearling rams ÂŁ543, 233 ram lambs ÂŁ463.67, 20 shearling ewes ÂŁ301 (Lawrie and Symington).
