Texels sell to 1300gns peak at Clitheroe

Saturday’s Texel sale at Clitheroe saw a top call of 1300gns paid for the pre-sale champion, a shearling tup from Procters Farm. This one was knocked down to J S Stephenson, Bordley, Skipton.

Second best was an 1150gns bid for a ram lamb from Messrs Davies and Waring, with this one bought by W H and M A Keighley, Castley Lane, Leathley.

Next top was a shearling at 750gns, with this one coming from Graham Taylor, Parkholme, and selling to A Rigby, Higher Woodhouse Farm, Slaidburn,

The reserve champion, a ram lamb from Peter Woof’s Stainton flock then sold for 700gns to T Harrison, Clifford Yard House, Skipton.

And making 650gns was a shearling from from P Johnson, Corriecravie, when bought by to H and F G Smalley, Scott House Farm, Clitheroe. A 600gns bid then secured the best from John Mellin’s Hull House flock, with this one finding a new home with S M Collinson, Glendene, Clayton Le Dale, Blackburn.

Topping the gimmers on offer was a brace of 420gns sales, with the first at this money being from Hull House and selling to A S H Mawdsley, Little Bank Bungalow, Settle, and the second from John Wood, North Valley, selling to R Pinder, Edisford Bridge, Clitheroe. (Lawrie and Symington).
