Top dairy genetics go under the hammer

The Black and White annual sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle next weekend (5^th December) will offer visitors the opportunity to acquire descendants from some of the world’s biggest cow families, with more than 100 lots representing some of the finest Holstein and Jersey bloodlines.

The sale comprises descendants from some well known names including Lila Z, Blackrose, Apple, Bonnie, Zandra and Dellia.

One of the headliner entries in the sale is a first choice selection from Dudec Mr Burns pregnancies due in May 2010 from MS Apples Applause. Sired by Comestar Stormatic, Applause is guaranteed to classify Very Good as a two year old, and is daughter of the world famous $1 million dollar cow, KHW Regiment Apple Red EX92. Apple offers tremendous depth and is a seventh consecutive generation Excellent scored dam.

A first ever continent offering is available from Northern Ireland breeder, D Clarke, Co Antrim. The first choice selection is available from two October 2009 Wilcoxview Jasper sired ET sisters, bred from Fraeland Goldwyn Bonnie VG. The second dam is Fairvale Jed Bonnie EX94 and the third dam is Fairvale Lincoln Bonnie EX.

A world first is also being offered in the form of an exclusive vehicle registration plate – ‘B19 MLK’ (Big Milk), which will also go under the hammer on the Saturday.
