Top end Charolais females sell well at Perth
A full crowd gathered at Perth to watch the Charolais females go through the ring and top 4000gns for the overall champion – Elgin May from R A Milne.
As part of the draft offering from the Elgin herd, Elgin Astrid, another Rumsden Samurai daughter sold for 3000gns to Duncan MacGregor and Elgin Beryl sold for 2200gns. Topping the Westcarse draft from J H Christie was Westcarse Valetta, an Oscar daughter which sold with her heifer calf by Burradon Talisman Talisman for 2500gns to Jim Kennedy.
As part of the draft offering from Esmor Evans’ Maerdy herd, it was a Ballybrown Toby daughter, Maerdy Alder which sold for the top price of 3600 to Northern Ireland breeder Joe Wilson. Three animals sold at the 2000gns price tag from this offering – Maerdy Ann (Messrs Thomson), Maerdy Aviary (Messrs hymas) and Maerdy Aunt (Norman Innes).
David Walker’s Galcantary dispersal took a top call of 2100gns for Galcantray April, a Farleycopse Turbo daughter.
