Mules sell to a top price of £120 at Skipton

A pen of ten sold for the top price of £120/head at the second annual North of England Mule Sheep Association show and sale at Skipton this week.

Patrick Walker of W P and B Walker, Appletreewick, sold his fourth prize winning consignment to Margaret Watkinson, Sessay, Thirsk.

Class co-judge, Anthony Hewetson of Bank Newton purchased the first prize pen of 20 for £118/head from Alan Lodge, Westside Farm, Malham Moor.

And Ashley Caton of Otterburn Lodge Farm, Otterburn, sold his champion moorland-reared lambs for £115 each to Mr Hewetson.

Mr Walker sold a total of 105 lambs for an overall average of £84.51/head.
