Turbo Dutch Texels sell to 2600gns top call

A shearling ram by imported sire Haringhuizen Haringhuezen led the trade at 2600gns for Jan Rodenburg’s annual production sale from the Turbo flock of Dutch Texels at Carlisle on Monday. This sale topper sold to M Faulder, Beith.

Next best at 1000gns was another shearling tup, this time by Turbo Magnum, when selling to John Hall, Inglewood Edge. Then at 800gns was another shearling tup, this time an Avonhorn Avonhorn sire which sold to J W Crozier, Waterbeck. At the same money was a Turbo Mr Marmite sired shearling which sold to J M and C E Mitchell, Tewkesbury.

Just short of that at 780gns was the best of the shearling ewes on offer. This was a Den Burg King daughter which sold to J Lee and Sons, Hexham.

Averages; 27 shearling ewes £466.67, 37 shearling rams £468.66 (Harrison and Hetherington).
