UK Dairy Day: Red and White championship

It was the second successful outing for this years Red and White champion, Knowlesmere Adventure Dream Red. Owners Andrew and Jane Whittaker, Shrewsbury, Shropshire also secured the Dairy Expo Red and White grand championship with the three year old earlier this year.

The second calver is giving 45kgs a day at 4.3% butterfat and 3.8% protein. Sired by Riverdane Adventure Red and out of Rampage Dream Red she is scored VG 87.

Judge, Nico Bons said she was more balanced and with more width in the rear. “She had better movement in her feet and legs, especially from the rear.”

In reserve was Richaven Wisconsin Papoose Red from RA Bown, Hanley Castle, Worcestershire. This second calver is giving 44kgs a day at 3.72% butterfat and 3.24% protein. Sired by April-Day Wisconsin-Red and out of Squawbuck Papoose 2, she is scored VG 88.
