Wardle Holsteins hit 8000gns top call

The massive crowd at yesterday’s Wardle Holstein dispersal was matched by some pretty high prices with the top call of 8000gns made by Gino Vasami and family for Wardle Shottle Sara, a Shottle daughter out of Copywood KJ Sara 2, a 20,500gns dam and former National Holstein Show champion.

Next best was a 6500gns sale for another Sara, this time Copywood Goldwyn Sara, a maternal sister to the top priced animal, but this time by Goldwyn. She sold to Robert Hugo, Bodmin.

Also at this level was Astlowhall Goldwyn Laurie, a February 2007-born heifer by Goldwyn out of a dam by Ridgefield Rubens Laurie bred from six succcessive generations of VG or Ex dams. She was bought by M J and J Owens, Ceredigion.

At 5700gns was another Sara, Riverdane Rampage Sara Red, a Rosedale-L Rampage daughter out of Copywood Storm Sara Red. Born in October 2006 she sold having run with Wardle Ghostly to P G and E M Royle, Coventry.

Then at 5200gns was another Shottle daughter Wardle Shottle Vaakje which sold to C S A Brassington and Son, Telford. She’s out of Stardale Rox Vaakje 13 and sold having been AI’d to Gillette Final Cut.

Close behind at 5000gns was Beanfield Douglas Ebony, a Douglas daughter out of Petteril Progress Ebony. Born in February 2007 she was AI’d in October to Cedarwal Spirte and was bought by Roston Partners, Winsford.

At 4900gns M R and N J Brassington and P D Crossmore bought Baileys Rampage Molli Red 3. Again by Rosedale-L Rampage Red this one is out of Morwick Range Molli Red and is bred from seven generations of VG and Ex dams.
