Welshpool Limousins reach 5800gns top call
Last Friday’s sale of Limousins at Welshpool topped at 5800gns for Alwen Ciran, from Messers Wynne, Hendre Glan Alwen, Llanfihangel. He sold to E Lewis, Lampeter. Ciran is a Ronick Hawk son out of Dauphin daughter Alwen Valma.
Next best at 5200gns were a brace of bulls, the first being , Alwyn Carwyn, again from Messrs Wynne and selling this time to E Davies and Co, Red House, Caersws. He’s by Limo Tanat and out of Alwen Unsain.
At the same money was Dolcorslwyn Caio from G P Vaughan, Dolcorsllwyn, which went home with Messers Kirton and Son, Worcs.
And at 5100gns was another from the same home Dolcorsllwyn Czar, which sold to E Griffiths, Presteine. Czar is by Cloughhead Umpire and out of Dolcorsllwyn Sara.
Then at 5000gns was Brynglas Charlie, from D G Evans, Brynglas, Bryncrug, Tywyn, selling to D H Tilsley, Minsterley. He’s by the great breeding bull Sympa and out of Ronick Poshspice, a Ronick Idol daughter.
Two also sold at 4000gns, the first being , Rainbow Celt from Messers White, Stafford, selling to J R Jones, Hilly Farm, Pentre Nesscliffe. With the second being Garth Vaughan Cocoa from C V Lewis, Garth Vaughan, Cyfronydd, which was claimed by Price and Price Cwmearl, Sarn.
At 3800gns was Lodge Cabanas, from the same vendor selling to P H Holloway and Son, Mount Farm, Berriew.
Messrs Wynne’s four bulls averaged ÂŁ5171 while Glyn Vaughan, Machynlleth, sold three bulls to average ÂŁ5145. Llanfair Caereinion breeders A Rees and Son, Tynllwyn, sold all eight of their bulls, averaging ÂŁ3020.
Females peaked at 2250gns for the pedigree in-calf heifer, Ceiriog Carol, from A Roberts, Glanrafon, Llangollen. Buyer was H and S Watkin, Cammen Ucha, Llanfihangel, Llanfyllin.
