Wheatley Hoslteins sell to 2300gns

Last week’s dispersal of the Wheatley herd of Holsteins for Adrian Gleed and Gill Freeth saw trade hit a high of 2300gns for a fresh calved Shanael Champion Pacific sired heifer out of a 12,577kg Shanail Terry Jamie daughter. She sold to Thomas Plas.

And B L and K M Sercombe, Lutterworth, then pain 2200gns for a November calved Champion Pacific daughter out of a 10.026kg Fordmill Tankbuster sired dam. Selling at 2100gns was a Fordmill Tankbuster-sired heifer due on October to Hazelden Aristotle, she sold to Thomas Plas.

At the same money was a served heifer by Shanael Gibson Aled due in June to Mr Minister. She went to W Bennett and Son, Newent.

Averages; 240 milking cows and heifers £1236.59, 70 in-calf heifers £1436.10, 40 bulling heifers £817.43, 75 maiden heifers and calves £570.36, 1 bull £840 (Gwilym Richards).
