Worcester Belted Galloways hit 2300gns

Top call at the Belted Galloway’s spring show and sale at Worcester was a 2300gns bid for Howemill Dark Hunter a 19 month old bull from Sir Michael Arbib’s herd. This one, by Howiemill Indigo sold to Allanby Park Estate, Binfield.

Making 2100gns was Kirkland Kestrel from P and L Stafford. This two year old bull sold to Cambridgeshire breeders Brookfield Contracting and Farming, Longstanton.

At 1980gns was the best of the females, Southfield Top Hat from Sir Michael. This six year old cow is due in October and sold to P H and S E Powell, Worcester.

Averages; six cows with calves/in calf £1030.75, four maiden heifers £693, five bulls £1335.60, 33 steers/heifers £428.24 (McCartneys).
