The wait for the Ineos Grenadier is almost over, with order books set to open on 18 May.

A rival to the much-loved Defender, the Grenadier will launch in two standard, no-fuss models, the Utility Wagon (which is available with either two or five seats) and the Station Wagon, along with a pair of special editions – the Trialmaster and the Fieldmaster.

Fitted with 3-litre, straight-six BMW engines, and available as either a petrol or a diesel, prices for the standard Grenadier start from £52,000.

For the more rugged special editions, which have been designed in partnership with Belstaff, prices start from £59,000.

A deposit of £2,500 will secure a building slot for one of the new 4x4s, which are capable of towing up to 3.5t. Model and spec variation can be fully customised on the Ineos online platform.
