Deere adds models to its Gator range

John Deere has added another two four-wheel drive models to its Gator farm buggy range.

The high-spec XUV 825i Gator has an 812cc, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 50hp. Top speed is 44mph and the fuel tank holds 27 litres of fuel.

A CVT transmission is fitted and the fully locking four-wheel drive system means it can cope with all types of terrain, says the company. Fully independent double-wishbone suspension gives up to 267mm (10.5in) of ground clearance and power steering with an anti-kickback feature is standard.

The cargo box is made of a composite material that is said to eliminate rust and dents and reduce noise. Load capacity is 454kg, towing capacity is 680kg and overall payload capacity is 635kg.

The XUV 855D S4 Gator farm buggy can take four passengers and has the same cargo box, towing and payload capacities as the XUV 825i. Power comes from a 22hp three-cylinder diesel engine.

Top speed is 32mph and power steering is standard. Prices of the two machines are £13,088 and £14,593 respectively.
