Cereals visitors chance to calculate their carbon footprint

Savills’ major focus at Cereals 2008 will be carbon management. The firm, in collaboration with the CLA, has developed a carbon calculator (CALM – Carbon Accounting for Land Managers) which allows farmers and landowners to measure the emission and capture of greenhouse gases from their farm or estate.

Measuring the carbon balance is the first step in the carbon management process, the next step is to find solutions to mitigate emission of gases, therefore minimising carbon footprint.

Savills Carbon Working Group will be at Cereals and will be able to discuss some of the mitigation projects they are running on farms and estates. Experts will be on hand to discuss some of the results from measuring the carbon account on a number of farms and estates around the country through the use of the CALM calculator

In addition, agribusiness consultants will be present to answer any questions/ provide solutions to problems. Also, Savills farm agency team will be displaying a variety of farms and estates they have for sale across the country.
