Claydon introduces smaller, single-tank SFH2000 front hopper

Growers who don’t need to carry and meter two products simultaneously now have the option of a smaller and simpler front hopper from Claydon.
The Suffolk firm’s offering had been limited to a 2,750-litre twin-tank model, but this has been supplemented by the SFH2000 Evolution with just a single 2,000-litre compartment.

Reducing the capacity has allowed engineers to trim the dimensions to about 2.4m wide and just under 1.7m high, down 100mm and 150mm, respectively, on the bigger version.
Features include a 1.8mx75cm lid with a central latch and stay strut, removable stainless-steel internal mesh, a single metering unit and two hopper level sensors.
These deliver low level and empty warnings and there’s also a sensor on the metering unit that will blurt an alert when the flow of product has stopped.
It can be fitted with one of three interchangeable metering wheels to match the seed or fertiliser product, comes with a 112mm-diameter transfer tube to ferry the goods to a rear-mounted toolbar drill, and can be controlled via isobus.
Options include passive steering packer wheels, 550kg of ballast, and lighting and camera kits.
The list price is £24,971.
