Versatile Vredo DZ5 Overseeder sows three species at once
©Vredo Both direct drilling and overseeding of multi-species swards are now possible with the latest iteration of Vredo’s Overseeder.
The DZ5 is capable of sowing three different seed types or products in the same pass, allowing growers to combine grasses, herbs and legumes in a species-rich meadow.

It uses the firm’s established double-disc assemblies to slice a V-shaped slot in the soil that is then closed with a press roller.
Row widths can be set at 7.5cm for grassland overseeding and 15cm for direct drilling of cover crops or green manures.
There are three metering systems to manage the application of different seed or product types independently, with each assigned to a specific disc row on which the sowing depth can be adjusted.
Optional extras include front tools to cut, scape and clear crop residues, or lightly disturb the soil to improve seed placement and reduce competition from existing plants.
