Knight demo days showcase new cultivators

Knight Farm Machinery took the chance to put its new M, C and SC cultivators through their paces at a joint Knight and Rabe demonstration event in Rutland last week.

Designed for lower-horsepower tractors, the 6m version of Knight’s M press can be teamed with German manufacturer Rabe’s MegaSeed one-pass mulching drill to form the M-Drill or can be used direct into stubble or after ploughing.

The M press is already available in 3, 4 and 5m widths and the machine’s horsepower requirement of 25hp to 30hp/m is significantly less than its larger brothers in the C range.

When working with smaller tractors, the semi-mounted design is a big advantage over a conventional drawbar and lower link sensing draft control controls the depth of the tines and improves traction.

The SC model, which fills the gap between the M press and the flagship C model, has four tool-beams, and includes all the same features as the larger range. Because it’s shorter, it carries one less cultivation section, but this can be rearranged or changed should the operator want.

All cultivators shown were fitted with the company’s Speed-Loc system, developed in Canada to enable operators to save time when changing points.
