Weaving debuts 4-6m Raptor high-speed trailed cultivator
© Weaving Armed with multiple rows of discs and legs, the Raptor from Weaving Machinery is geared up for high-output seed-bed creation.
As the first trailed combination cultivator in the Worcestershire maker’s line-up, it offers considerably more output than the mounted Subdisc.

Working widths of 4m and 5m are already available and there’s a 6m in the offing.
All are built around a braced box-section chassis with 76cm under-beam clearance and they have centrally mounted transport wheels for better manoeuvrability.
Up front, each model will have two rows of 560mm cutting discs mounted on rubber torsion bars.
These are set an aggressive angle to give plenty of bite on hard-packed ground and ensure soil is moved across the entire working width.
Legs and roller
Next in line are two rows of 350mm-wide legs with a double-spring auto-reset system.
Working depth can be altered hydraulically from 5 to 25cm and they’re fitted with replaceable points, shins and wings.
Each row is spaced a generous 2m apart, giving plenty of space for soil to settle and trash to flow through.
To finish the job off, Weaving has fitted a bank of 460mm rubber-mounted levelling discs at the rear, followed by a heavy-duty 600mm disc roller.
Recommended working speed is 8-12kph. On the smallest version, this will require the services of a tractor packing at least 240hp, with more than 300hp needed for the largest.
Prices start at £44,800 for the 4m Raptor 4000T, the 5m 5000T is £48,800 and the upcoming 6000T is £54,800.
