Lemken has developed a transport carriage that makes it easier to cart a big VarioPack double furrow press on the road.

It mounts to the tractor’s lower link arms, with the wheels lifted and lowered hydraulically, and measures a modest 2.8m wide with 70 or 90cm rings.

The drawbar can be folded up for work, with the arms of the VarioPack adjusted vertically, laterally and lengthways to suit the conditions, and to get it running close to the plough to minimise side draft.

This should help retain moisture in freshly ploughed soil.
