Pottinger slashes tractor wheel slip with new plough design

Pottinger has launched a new Servo 45 M mounted plough series designed for tractors of 140hp to 240hp.

The Servo range is available in four-, five- and six-furrow models and all are offered with the firm’s Plus hydraulic furrow width adjustment.

The four- and five-furrow models are offered in Nova spec, with hydraulic trip legs and an adjustable triggering pressure of up to 1,900kg to protect the plough against damage.

Inter-body spacing is either 95cm or 102cm and standard under-beam clearance is 80cm, with 90cm coming as an option.

Pottinger reckons wheel slip has been slashed by up to 2 litres/ha thanks to the redesign. Much of this is because it no longer requires ballasting of the tractor’s rear wheels – instead, it transmits the plough’s weight through the tractor’s back end to help with traction.
