Livestock mixer-feeder specialist Trioliet has devised a new weighing system for its Solomix tandem-axle models designed to be more accurate and easier to maintain than previous installations.

The snappily titled Double-Ended Differential Beam (DEDB) system has a beam-type load cell that is mounted on each of the two pivot assemblies of the mixer-feeder’s walking beam axles and attached at both ends to the hopper structure above.

Stability of this five-point weighing arrangement is said to be the key to obtaining accurate measurements, as dynamic loads caused while the machine is loaded and the contents mixed are better compensated.

The result, reckons Trioliet, is maximum accuracy for each of the ingredients that are combined into a homogenous forage-based feed.

And because of the way the weighing assembly is installed, replacing a malfunctioning load cell is said to be easier than with other designs.

Trioliet is fitting the DEDB system as standard on all its Solomix twin-axle mixer-feeders, which comprise twin- and triple-auger models with 24-52cu m capacities.
