Smaller Strautmann Magnon forage wagons set for sale

Strautmann’s Magnon 8 forage wagons have landed in the UK ahead of this year’s grass season.

The three models that make up the range, the 370, 410 and 450, are smaller than the Magnon 10s launched in 2019, with load capacities ranging from 36-44cu m and their dimensions comparatively compact.

Highlights include a moving front wall that can increase carrying capacity by 4.5cu m and be pushed rearwards to hasten the unloading process.

They also get the firm’s 2.25m-wide pick-up and larger diameter double-roller crop press, plus the option of a guide roller to improve contour following.

The cutting unit carries 44 double-sided knives that deliver a theoretical chop length of 35mm, with a protection system that automatically retracts them from the conveying unit should they meet a foreign object.

The box itself is 2.25m wide, sits on a tandem-axle chassis and comes with 710/50 R26.5 tyres as standard, though 800/45 R30.5s can be specced for better stability on hilly terrain.

A tridem chassis with an axle load rating of 27t, electronic active steering and a lifting axle is also available as an option on the larger 450 model.

List price of a Magnon 8 CFS 370 starts at £129,588.
