John Deere updates flagship foragers for 2020

John Deere has given its 8000 and 9000 series foragers some fresh updates for the 2020 season.

Among the new features is active header control with active lateral tilt float, which works by moving freely over the ground once it is lowered.

It then centres and locks itself when raised to improve safety when heading down the road.

The Dura Line smooth roll scraper is also now available and should last at least four times longer than the standard setup, says John Deere.

And there are updates to the joystick, which now has an extra 15deg of forward movement to help the switch between forward and reverse.

The 8000 series cutterhead has filtered down from the bigger 9000 series, with features including a strengthened frame, larger bearings and knife grinding system.
