Massey Ferguson debuts mowers, rakes and E-Loader

Massey Ferguson has bolstered its range of hay and forage kit with a brace of four-rotor rakes and a new generation of butterfly and front-mounted mowers.
The RK 1254 TRC and TRC-Pro rakes can extend from 10.6m to 12.5m working width and fold to a height of less than 4m for road transport, while the larger 1404 TRC-Pro offers widths of 11.5m to 14m. It features steering tandem axles as a factory-fitted option, along with improved front rotor spring suspension and modified cam tracks.
Other extras for MF’s range of four-rotor rakes include air brakes, 550/45 R22.5 tyres, a swath former and Isobus compatibility.

Butterfly mowers
As for rear-mounted butterfly mowers, the DM8612 TL delivers a cutting width of 8.6m and the DM9614 swipes 9.6m in a single pass.
Both models come with a disc cutterbar, which features the firm’s “Turbo Lift” damping system to offer greater movement. A lateral swing of 19deg downhill and 30deg uphill allows the blades to follow contours closely and should help minimise forage contamination.
The cutterbar carries 12 discs on the smaller 8612 and 14 on the larger 9614. Both rear mowers can work with 2.8m, 3m or 3.1m front units and can be adjusted on a two-position fixing.
A trio of new-generation 3.1m front mowers are available with a tine or roller conditioner and feature a closer coupling for greater linkage movement to follow the ground with 15deg of movement. Each mower is armed with six discs – and two blades on each – while cutting height can be adjusted from the top link and set with guide boards.
Elsewhere, MF’s RB F Protec baler-wrapper combination now comes with a film tying option, as well as a bale tipper, hand-wash tank and LED lighting.

E-Loader
Massey has also introduced an E-Loader device that runs through the firm’s Datatronic 5 touchscreen. This allows individual load weights to be recorded, as well as automating grapple operations that save operator effort in conducting repetitive sequences.
Other features include a bucket shake function and the ability to set upper and lower lift limits. The E-Loader is available now for the 5S, 6S, 7S and, from April 2022, the MF 8S.
