Rozmital SD-28L extends plain disc mower range to 2.8m

With a working width of 2.8m covered by a bank of seven oval discs, the new SD-28L rear-mounted mower extends Rozmital’s range to three models, joining the existing 2m and 2.4m versions.

Each disc carries a pair of swinging flails secured by quick-release mechanism, and the two outer discs are of the “top hat” style which, together with the guide plates positioned behind them, channels grass into a 1.6m wide swath.

Attributes of machine, says Rozmital, include a relatively light weight of 555kg, although the Polish manufacturer adds this does not imply a lack of strength and durability

Fast mowing speeds of to 18kph suggest peak outputs of up to 2.7ha/hour.

A low power requirement is another benefit of the plain disc mower with no crop conditioning elements.

This, together with its weight, means the generously proportioned machine can be operated on a tractor of 55hp upwards with Category II lift linkage.

A triple coil spring suspension system supports the cutting bed and mainframe in work, and adjustments ensure the disc bed “floats” over the field surface enabling it to respond rapidly to undulations.

There is also a break-back mechanism to protect the machine should it whack an immovable obstruction, and for movements between yard and field, the mowing deck lifts to a vertical position.
