Hi-Spec Kompactor ejector trailer range offers four sizes

Irish feed and slurry kit specialist Hi-Spec Engineering will be launching a range of Kompactor ejector trailers at Grassland UK.
Initially the Kompactor will be available in 18ft, 20ft, 22ft and 24ft form, as well as a demount version that allows the trailer section to be switched with a vacuum tanker body.
The Kompactor uses a hydraulically operated headboard powered by a three-stage hydraulic ram.
The headboard can be used to compact silage crops to increase the load carried by up to 80% compared with a conventional trailer, says the company.

To empty the load the headboard is fully extended and it can shunt its entire contents out the tailgate in as little as 30 seconds.
Because the load is pushed off rather than tipped, the trailer is handy for use in awkward low sheds.
Using a push-off mechanism also lowers the centre of gravity, says Hi-Spec, so there’s less risk of striking overhead power lines.
A dampened drawbar and air brakes are fitted as standard on all models, while options include a rear-steering axle and the availability of a unique hydraulically operated sliding bogie axle.
This can shift backwards by up to 600mm to increase the weight on the tractor to improve grip.
Prices for the smallest trailer start at £36,500.
