A triple combination flail-topper has been introduced by Wessex Machinery.

Available in working widths from 4m to 7.8m, the French Desvoys machines are aimed at those farmers with a lot of set-aside ground and stubbles to chop.

The three individual flail units can be arranged as one gang mounted on the rear of the tractor.

Alternatively, the centre unit can be coupled to a front linkage and pto to create a more balanced “butterfly” outfit.

Prices range from £16,815 for a 4m machine to £26,960 for a 7.8m setup.
