Deere Sampo combines on sale for 2015

John Deere will be offering Finnish-made Sampo Rosenlew combines for the UK 2015 harvest following a deal struck between the two companies last year.

The five-walker W330 and six-walker W440 entry-level models are said to be simple and reliable and, somewhat unusually for Deere products, use 210hp and 238hp Agco Power engines.

The W330 has a 5,200-litre (about 4t) grain tank. The W440, meanwhile, is available either with or without a pre-threshing cylinder (PTC). It has a tank capacity of 6,500 litres (about 5t) without the PTC and 7,600 litres (about 5.7t) with it. Header sizes go from a modest 3.9m to a more meaty 6.9m.

Other changes to Deere’s mainstream combine models include a high-performance package for the T-series models to boost separation performance in high-yielding crops and green straw conditions.

Further up the range, the S670 combine now has a 19hp increase in rated hp to 392hp, with maximum power boosted to 449hp. A four-strand feederhouse is available on level-land S-series combines, while Active Concave Isolation (ACI) and heavy-duty separator grates are standard on all 2015 S680, S685 and S690 combines.

Deere says its aim is to boost feeding capacity and smooth crop flow at higher throughputs. It reckons the changes could give 5% more capacity at the same grain-loss level in straw moistures above 25%.

Top-of-the-range S-series combines can now be equipped with all-new 8.7m rigid and 7.9m folding unloading augers to match wider 12.2m (40ft) headers and controlled traffic farming systems.

ConnectedCombine packages include AutoTrac guidance, Interactive Combine Adjustment (ICA) and Remote Display Access (RDA). Deere’s GoHarvest mobile phone app is also available as a free download for smartphones and tablets.

Prices are ÂŁ147,710 for the W330PTC, ÂŁ171,289 for the W440 and ÂŁ174,835 for the W440PTC.
