Highland 2010 :Kelvin Cave crimper makes adding extras easy

Latest development from Kelvin Cave is designed to crimp grain, and allow the addition of extra ingredients such as molasses to create a cattle feed concentrate.
Business end of the trailed machine is the company’s pto-powered five-tonne/hour grain crimper which delivers the processed grain into a horizontal 12cm diameter auger.
A small distance along the auger is an inlet through which minerals held in a hopper can be metered to mix with the crimped grain. Further along the auger, a tank delivers molasses to the mixture and is mixed in as it travels to an exit where a conveyor takes the completed concentrate into store.
The company says the system is aimed at non-TMR users looking to create a ration used in beef production. Price is ÂŁ16,500.
