Kuhn trims Multi-Longer telescopic hedgecutter reach to 6.1m
Kuhn’s 6.1m telescopic arm reach mower © Kuhn Large farms and contractors who like the versatility of a reach mower with a telescopic arm have a new model to consider in Kuhn’s Multi-Longer range.
The 6157 e-TPAL trims 1.3m of horizontal reach from the flagship version’s 7.4m, but otherwise retains much of the larger model’s features.

Fit for a tractor of at least 100hp and 5.5t, the newcomer is reckoned to offer a good balance of compact dimensions for road-based work and the ability to mow hedges beyond grass verges and ditches.
Standard equipment includes a sophisticated control system – eAssist – designed to achieve a consistent finish by maintaining a constant cutting head angle and arm height; it’s an electric parallelogram system in effect.
Operators also get a joystick capable of activating all four proportional arm movements at the same time, and there is Kuhn’s VT 61 terminal providing quick access to settings for systems such as the parallel arm movement, and also key machine data.
Automatic arm lift float for running the flail head along a grass verge is also part of the package.
The Multi-Longer 6157 e-TPAL reach mower is mounted to the tractor on Kuhn’s Stabilink axle brackets for maximum stability, especially at full reach, but with a heavy-duty “A” frame in development, as well as a new joystick design.
There are 1.2m and 1.5m heads with T-flails as standard, while a debris blower with hydraulic drive is available for roadside work to remove cuttings from the path of vehicles.
