Midlands Machinery Show: Versatile shows wheeled tractor

Canadian-made Versatile tracked tractors are fast becoming well-known items in the UK, thanks to the efforts of Lincolnshire importer JPM Agricultural.

In fact, eight machines have now been sold in the UK.

Another piece of equipment was shown for the first time at this year’s Midlands Machinery Show and that was the wheeled cousin of the Delta-Track.

There are three models, with a choice of 260 (pictured), 290 and 310hp Cummins QSX 9-litre engines (as found in Case Magnums), and smaller 170-210hp models are due to appear in the UK in the next couple of years.

If the front-end looks vaguely familiar, it’s because it uses the John Deere 8200 and 8400 bonnet.

Otherwise everything is from Versatile, including axles. Cost is about £85,000.

Not content with that, JPM plans to bring in the Versatile RSM1403 forage harvester (as seen at Agritechnica last month) and a Versatile TSM161 straw-walker combine to the UK next summer.
