Normac 2010: Lemken replaces Opals with Juwels

A new plough joins Lemken’s implement line-up. The Juwel 8 Series, which replace the company’s Opal 8 ploughs, offers fully mounted versions with four to seven furrows.
The key new feature is the use of DuraMex bodies, which are hardened to a greater extent than conventional bodies and are claimed to last up to 50% longer. Such hardness, however, means that drilling holes for bolting to frames could create an inherent weakness that could cause the body to break. Instead, hooks are “glued” to the rear of the bodies to allow them to be attached to the frame. Other features include an electronic pre-set for plough turnover – there are no wing stops – and larger skimmer bodies.
