SlurryKat mobile nurse tanks get high-strength sidewalls

Novel zigzagged sidewalls are the stand-out feature of the latest mobile nurse tanks built by SlurryKat.

The chevron-style flanks of the County Armagh maker’s chassis-mounted “generation 3” vessels are press-formed from 5mm sheet steel and are reckoned to have significantly increased the strength of the outfit without the need for further interior bracing.

This helps keep the inside of the tank clean and with few ledges, nooks and crannies that might otherwise allow fibrous material to build up.

A 500mm diameter pipe forms a “high-flow” passage to join the front and rear sections between the wheels.

This is large enough to prevent sediment such as sawdust gathering and inhibiting the movement of slurry destined for the pump, the company says.

As with the previous range, there are seven versions with capacities from 45cu m to 200cu m.

Options include a high-pressure Doda AFI pump on the drawbar – saving the need to transport and connect a separate unit – and an integrated umbilical headland management system that allows the field-bound flow to be stopped for an indefinite period while the tractor makes an end-of-bout turn.

Prices start at £25,950 for the basic 45cu m model.
