Big Amazone Pantera 7004 self-propelled set for UK launch
Amazone’s latest Pantera self-propelled sprayer will make its UK debut at the Cereals Event in June.
Far from being a scaled-up version of the current 4,500-litre model, the Pantera 7004 has more engine power, new running gear with self-levelling and individual track width adjustment, and a slimmer console.
It can also carry more, with a 6,600-litre spray tank, 500-litre clean water tank, and booms up to 48m.

Unlike the smaller machine, which runs on rocking beam axles connecting the front and rear wheels on each side, the larger newcomer has individual trailing (front) and leading (rear) arms.
The hydro-pneumatic cylinder suspension with self-levelling characteristics is adaptive in that it automatically stiffens or becomes more compliant according to forward speed
For added stability it will keep the machine upright across gradients up to 10% when at work.
While it matches the smaller Pantera’s hydraulic track width and crop clearance adjustment, it also has an extra trick up its sleeve – the ability to set different track settings front and rear to spread the load instead of concentrating it along one set of wheelings.
Standard track width range is 2m to 2.75m, but for operators with a controlled traffic system, a 2.25m to 3m version is available, in both cases with around 1.3m underbelly clearance.
Drivetrain
A 7.8-litre Deutz diesel generating 306hp consumes fuel from a 290- or 400-litre tank, and is kept cool by a variable-speed fan.
Intelligent hydrostatic drive can be operated in “eco” mode with engine revs then automatically set between 950rpm and 2,000rpm according to load.
The “power” mode keeps maximum output available for work on steep slopes or with a full spray tank on hilly ground.
Disc brakes integrated with the hydraulic wheel motors are fitted all round (as on the Pantera 4505) to slow the machine from its 50kph top speed.
Electronic traction control and tyres up to 2.05m diameter help maintain tractive effort and grip in the field.
Although the Vista cab structure is the same, operators now get Amazone’s slimmer armrest console carrying the AmaPilot+ joystick with its freely-assignable buttons and tablet-like 7in AmaDrive vehicle instrument display.
As now, there is a choice of cab pillar-mounted 8in AmaTron 4 or 12.1in TopCon X35 isobus colour touchscreen terminals to set-up the spraying system and any precision farming functions.
