At a fraction less than 1.9t, SlurryKat reckons its new 24m slurry dribble bar weighs as much as 55% less than alternative umbilical applicators of this type.

Together with a close-coupled design and vertical transport position for the boom, the firm says this means a tractor of 150hp or so will be up to the job of handling the 24m Premium Plus outfit.

Operators can, therefore, use a lighter, more frugal power unit with lower running costs and less impact on the soil.

The newcomer joins existing 7.5m, 10m, 12m, 15m and 18m versions of the Premium Plus.

They are all fitted with 40mm internal diameter ribbed pipes inserted into 50mm smooth drop hoses, an arrangement designed to ensure there is nothing to restrict the flow from the distributor head.

Two SlurryKat macerator distribution units are carried on each boom.

These have been modified for the 24m model, with forced ventilation helping to keep the slurry fluid to maintain an even flow and application rate across the wide working width.

Improved accuracy

While half-width cut-off is standard, SlurryKat is developing a section control system to minimise duplicate application coverage, and also automatic height adjustment for the boom, which already has separate manual control each side.

Folding for road travel sees outer sections swing in horizontally before the inner sections pivot to a unique vertical position less than 3.5m in height.

Prices start at £61,950, with all hydraulic functions and flow metering operated through a hydraulic load-sensing system complete with in-cab switch box and with full isobus options also available.
